Hands For Healing International was created to bring people together. During times of disaster people are quick to rally if they have the necessary structure to support. We attempt to bring together people from across cultures, languages and social economic levels for a single cause.
We believe that there is a need to be prepared before the disaster hits and to be consistent with support after the disaster is over and the news cameras leave. The needs of the people are not so vanishing. Volunteers and small business owners working together with large corporations and charitable organizations create a formidable network. When we come together we can provide hands that heal in times of need.
Over the last ten years, we have been fortunate to be a part of rapid relief in many different natural disasters.
Our Vice President, Jimmy Chapman, spent many years coordinating temporary housing for FEMA in natural disasters in American like hurricanes Katrina, Charlie, Wilma, Ivan and Rita. His network and experience has been an enormous asset to provide rapid response in time of need. Jimmy traveled to the Philippines to be a part of a rapid response team after the typhoon devastated their country.
